Will Lakin is here to stay!

We’re delighted to confirm that goalkeeper Will Lakin will remain with The Wakes for the 2026/27 season.

A key figure throughout the 2025/26 campaign, Will was ever-present between the sticks, making 46 appearances across all competitions and playing a massive role in the side’s success over the course of the season.

Reliable, commanding and consistently producing important saves at crucial moments, Will’s performances gave the team a strong foundation week in, week out. His presence, communication and leadership from the back made him one of the most important players in the squad throughout the year.

The Gaffa was eager to retain Will’s services heading into the new season, with the shot-stopper becoming a hugely respected and trusted member of the dressing room both on and off the pitch.

Everyone at the club is delighted to have Will back in blue for another season.
